Poole Business Front
Poole is one of only a few towns and cities in the UK where manufacturing accounts for over 15% of the local economy and it is also a town where the port and shipyards are still a central business area. Several road links to east, west and north surround Poole. The A30 is the quickest route to Exeter, the A31 goes to Southampton and the A37 is the main route to Bath & Bristol. The town also has a passenger ferry route to Guernsey, Jersey and Cherbourg. The closest airport is Bournemouth International Airport; just 10 miles shy of the town centre. Bournemouth University is the closest university and is known as a good college to attend for those interested in media and the arts. It has an estimated student population of 19,000.

It does have the Lighthouse though, the largest entertainment complex found outside of London and always a hive of activity in the evenings and weekends.
