It is also a big station in terms of local rail routes. The closest airport is Stansted Airport, which is roughly 25 miles away. It is one of the busiest airports in the country with multiple domestic and international destinations.


Anglia Ruskin University has a sub-campus in town, but Chelmsford College is the main source of higher education in the area. It has three sites across the city and covers everything from engineering to hospitality & catering.

Social Life

Being a commuter town, Chelmsford is full of restaurants and bars, with the number of attractions skewed towards outdoor activities.
