East Anglia Business Front
A large majority of the economy in the region is agriculture based, with most the country’s potatoes coming from here. The complete opposite end of the business spectrum is represented in Cambridge with multiple science parks and technology research centres encompassing the outer areas.
A lot of business parks in the region are focussed more towards the south and west. This is because they sit on main road links where distribution centres are located, as well as major airports. Some of the major business parks include Cambourne Business Park, Adastral Park, Lawnades and the Royal Business Centre. This are a plethora of offices available for rent and some of the premium locations to find one at include East Road in Cambridge, Sheep Market and St Crispins Road in Norwich.
East Anglia has no main motorways; however there are a large number of A roads that lead to the A1 & M11. This has given the area major status as a large commuter belt in to London, especially in towns like Norwich, Ipswich and Cambridge. The region does have extensive rail links and it’s incredibly easy to get from London to the far reaches of the county in no time at all. It is also very well interconnected between towns too. The main airport for East Anglia is Norwich International Airport, although most residents can fly anywhere from Stansted and London Luton Airport and prefer it as it has better road links.
The region is home to one of, if not the most famous universities in the world (Cambridge). And while it is the king of colleges in the country, the University of East Anglia, Norwich University of the Arts and University Centre Peterborough are other well-known universities in the region.
A lot of locals love any chance to get towards the coast. East Anglia is home to some fantastic seaside towns including Great Yarmouth and Lowestoft. It’s also a very cycle friendly area. Because it has a lot of flat land, quite similar to the Netherlands, many towns encourage the use of bicycles as a main method of travel. Just take a visit to Cambridge and you’ll see this idea in full effect. See what office space in East Anglia is like by looking at the current listings for area below.
